Solving the right skill gaps
The Future of Work is now. This reality dawned a tad too early catalyzed by COVID-19. The challenges of work, jobs and careers are now more apparent than ever.
Change is the only constant in what most jobs, careers and the nature of work will be, as AI & Automation takes over. In this context, leaders can re-imagine their workforce models - how they use technology to increase productivity.
While technical skills of the workforce are evolving, as they try to catch up, ´soft skills´ are increasingly becoming critical. Simply put the unique value of a human in the workforce will be their “human capabilities,” such as curiosity, collaboration and empathy.
Organizations must not only think about how best to recruit top talent that fit this new paradigm, but also consider how to improve their learning and development initiatives to keep their workforce sharp with the necessary skills to be ready for the future.
They require a focused approach to helping develop social and emotional capabilities, along with their hard skills. Pretty soon, people and their skills will be the competitive advantage that businesses will vie for.
